When Osborn reveals that he knows Peter as Spider-Man, he informs him that he will keep his secret safe. This haunts Peter even after he returns home. Nico offers to take Peter to the movies, but he says he is having dinner with Osborn. In the empty restaurant, Peter tries to tell Osborn that he is not Spider-Man, but that he can see through his lies. He reveals that after saving his son Harry, he began gathering potential candidates for the role of Spider-Man, which eventually included Amadeus, Jeanne, Asha, and Peter himself. He offers his services to help him, but Peter politely declines. Osborn leaves the door open just in case and checks.
